Know what’s been tested.

Platform testing is in progress. No meeting or recording platform has completed release qualification.

Before you download or buy

The results below apply to a local development build using the separate Privacy Screen window on an Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26.1. They do not certify the published v0.1.0 download or the isolated virtual-monitor prototype. macOS 14 and Intel runtime tests are still pending.

A window appearing in a share picker, or looking correct in a local preview, does not establish what a remote audience receives. These checks used synthetic content and sampled observations; they do not prove privacy on every frame or during every failure.

Zoom

Partial development test

Zoom 7.0.6 delivered changing slides and Cover / Resume to a browser receiver on the same Mac. With Share selected app window only enabled in Zoom Settings → Share screen → Advanced, the output kept updating behind other windows. With it disabled, QA settings appeared over the selected output. Fully offscreen video froze even with it enabled. Keep the output on a display. Separate-device, continuous-frame, keyboard shortcut and failure-recovery tests remain open.

Google Meet

Not yet verified

The live test stopped at Google account verification. No received-share result is available for the current candidate.

Microsoft Teams

Not yet verified

Starting a web meeting required Microsoft sign-in. No current-candidate receiver test has been completed.

Loom

Not yet verified

The recording workflow requires account sign-in. No ScreenVeil recording has been replayed and verified.

OBS

Not yet verified

OBS 32.2.2 was opened and its window-capture setup exercised. The test could not reliably select the Privacy Screen source. No ScreenVeil recording or playback pass is available.

Check your setup before presenting

  1. Use non-sensitive test content. Choose your app rules and start Privacy Screen.
  2. Select the window named Privacy Screen in your meeting or recorder. Sharing your desktop bypasses this feed.
  3. For Zoom, enable Share selected app window only in Settings → Share screen → Advanced. Keep Privacy Screen on a display; fully offscreen sharing failed our test.
  4. View the received share on a second device, or record a short sample and replay it. Change the public content and confirm that it updates while excluded apps stay absent.
  5. Rehearse Cover feed, Resume feed, and your keyboard shortcut. Stop sharing in the meeting tool if you cannot confirm a covered feed.
  6. Stop the meeting share before stopping Privacy Screen. Recheck after app, macOS, display, or capture-setting changes.
